About Us

Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Gregory D. Jackson Jr. serves as Senior Pastor with a deep sense of gratitude, conviction, and divine purpose. Though this is a new location, he is not new to ministry. With years of faithful service in various leadership roles, Pastor Jackson brings experience, theological depth, and a shepherd’s heart to FBCMH.

A native of Durham, North Carolina, Pastor Jackson carries the humility, warmth, and resilience shaped by his upbringing and personal testimony. His life stands as a witness to God’s amazing grace! He often reflects that ministry is not rooted in personal ambition, but in appreciation. He is fully aware that God has spared his life, extended grace, and entrusted him with an assignment he does not intend to waste.

Pastor Jackson began his formal ministry journey at Union Baptist Church in Dover, Delaware, where he served as Youth and Associate Pastor from 2017 to 2021. During that time, he developed discipleship programs for youth and young adults, increased young adult engagement, organized revival services and community outreach efforts, and led the church in establishing virtual worship services during the global pandemic. He was licensed and ordained into the Gospel ministry in 2018.

He later served as Associate Minister at First Baptist Church of Marshall Heights in Washington, DC, where he assisted in implementing pastoral vision, preached regularly, and developed dynamic Bible studies and Christian education initiatives. His leadership helped strengthen congregational morale and increase weekly attendance.

In addition to pastoral ministry, Pastor Jackson also served as a Secondary Educator at Southern Maryland Christian Academy, where he integrates biblical truth into academic instruction and provides spiritual counsel to students, parents, and colleagues. His passion for teaching reflects his broader calling: to clearly communicate God’s Word in ways that transform lives.

Pastor Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Delaware State University and a Master of Divinity from Missio Seminary in Philadelphia, where he graduated receiving the Clayton and Ethel Zetty Award. His educational background in communication and theology uniquely equips him to preach with clarity, conviction, and cultural awareness.

A guiding Scripture in his life and ministry is Acts 20:24: “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. “This verse reflects his commitment to finishing well, stewarding his calling faithfully, and proclaiming the Gospel of grace without compromise.

At the center of Pastor Jackson’s life is his family. He is joyfully married to his loving and devoted wife, JaLeesia, and together they are raising their growing daughter, Kennedy. He believes healthy ministry flows from a healthy home and treasures his role as husband and father.  He firmly believes that healthy ministry flows from a healthy marriage and family, and he treasures his calling as a husband and father as deeply as his calling to preach. Pastor Jackson’s vision is rooted in walking alongside people as they grow and develop in their knowledge and understanding of Christ. He believes the church flourishes when the Word of God is rightly divided, faithfully lived, and boldly proclaimed. With a servant’s heart and an unwavering commitment to his assignment, he looks forward to leading God’s people with integrity, gratitude, and purpose.
